First BASE, the before and after school child care program at Orca is hosting an open house September 2nd from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Families are welcome to drop in for refreshments, tour rooms 106 and 311 and meet the staff.

Orca’s fourth and fifth graders got on two school buses on Friday morning 5/2/08 and headed out to the Green
River in Kent to work with EarthCorps staff on restoration and exploration of the riverbeds there.

A memorable trip with my mother

A memorable trip I took with my mother was in 1975. It was a day with clouds hanging over the city like a wet blanket ready to drip. We packed our things and left our home for our cousin’s place by the river. I remember we said goodbye to our father, and for the first time I saw my mother and father kiss ever so briefly....
